30 minutes per week for Social Media time.
For many months I had been observing my feelings and reactions when it comes to social media. Questions like: what to share, what not to share, when to post, when not to post, why do it, what is the purpose…etc, etc, etc…
Are you feeling absorbed by the internet and the many social media platforms you spend time on?
Is it making you happy? …or… is it making you anxious, stressed and overwhelmed?
For me, I recently made the decision to allocate only 30 minutes per week for social media sharing time. Period!
I know, I know…you must be saying: Are you crazy? What are you doing? Aren’t you wanting to promote and grow your business?
The answer is: YES, I definitely want to grow my business, but most importantly, I want to grow my personal happiness and joyous experiences on an every day basis.
As a matter of fact, I have been very thrilled creating a new path for myself and part of that path is to have the time and peace of mind to create it… and how can you do it if you are spending endless hours online doing not much?
I recently read an article written by a Social Media Manager where she started taking Sundays off totally away from her phone… and I thought to myself that it was a great start. She found out that people are spending a staggering 6.5 hours on the internet daily… that is 45.5 hours a week! Really! That is a full time job! That is ludicrous!
Imagine if you free up that time doing things that truly enhance, expand and give you more happiness and prosperity?
Well, that is exactly what I have done!
I now have an additional 45 hours per week to very focusedly and intentionally grow and expand my business and my life!
I told my wife my decision… and we have started to implement new simple set of activities that are all geared to better our personal world.
Here are some of those things:
1. I removed several apps from my phone, like: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Messenger. Now, when is time I will access them via my computer only, so I am not worry about interrupting my actions with distractions.
2. I removed over 400 phone contacts from my phone of people that I never connect with anyways.
3. I erased all my text messages over one month old. Period!
It felt so so so so freeing. It felt really awesome!
Now, I got time to blog once a week on topics that are truly important, especially those that will help me grow my business and help others live their lives at their very best.
Now, I got time to create meaningful video content to share on my website all geared to grow my business and improve my personal world… and help others do the same.
Now, I got time to go out to dinner and totally put my phone on the purse and forget about it, therefore, I can be fully present and enjoy my time with the ones I love.
Now, I can go to sleep without a concern that instant messaging is gonna wake me up when someone in another part of the world feels like wanting my immediate attention on something that is not even urgent.
Now, I can totally focused on doing amazing marketing and advertising in a way that will predictably grow my business giving me lasting tangible results.
Think about it yourself!
What do you want your life to be like?
I want to thank you reading this blog and for sharing it ONLY when you know it will create value for others who will read it as well.
I celebrate my happiness and prosperity and your too!
